Wrocław University provides employment stability and ample opportunities for development for scientific and administrative staff. This is why the University has trusted specialists representing extensive areas of knowledge, from the humanities to sciences.
In raising finance for scientific and research activities from domestic sources our scientists are helped by the Scientific Research Department (Dział Badań Naukowych), located in the main University building at Plac Uniwersytecki 1, Room 110 (tel. +48 71 375 22 65, +48 71 375 22 41, fax +48 71 344 72 52 e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org).
In raising finance for scientific and research activities from foreign sources the staff are helped by the Foreign Project Office (Biuro Projektów Zagranicznych), located at ul. Kręta 1/3, on the second floor (tel. +48 71 324 60 25, +48 324 60 27, fax +48 71 324 60 26, e-mail: email@example.com).
Since 2006, our University has operated an Internal Research Funds System, in which funds are granted for research projects in an internal, faculty-wide competition for young researchers.
Our University’s academic staff actively cooperate with scientific and research centres around the world. They gain experience in working in an international setting during scientific internships, conferences and surveys of sources. Every year, a total of 1,500 such trips are organised. We also invite foreign staff to work at our University. Academic exchange is possible under university or government agreements.
The academic staff enjoy teaching assignments abroad as part of the Erasmus+ programme. Each faculty and institute has their own list of partner institutions of higher education with which bilateral agreements regarding academic staff exchange have been signed. An Erasmus grant for such a trip is given for the following academic year, and the distribution among individual units depends on how the grant was used in the previous academic year.
Erasmus+ is also a development opportunity for non-academic staff who want to raise their professional qualifications during a training trip. They go to partner universities or train at other foreign institutions in one of the EU member states, an EFTA country (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein), Turkey or Macedonia.
Such trips are organised by the International Office (Biuro Współpracy Międzynarodowej), located in the main building in Uniwersytecki Square.
Wrocław University is also a disabled-friendly employer. Most University buildings are already equipped with special ramps, lifts and toilets. In order to facilitate movement for the blind and the visually impaired, the rooms in all buildings have descriptions in Braille on their doors. This means that our disabled staff are able to realize their full professional potential.
All employee matters are dealt with by the HR Department, located in the main building at Plac Uniwersytecki 1, 2nd floor, Room 215 (tel. +48 71 375 22 61, +48 71 375 26 39, +48 71 375 27 15, fax +48 71 375 22 60, e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org).
Job vacancies are regularly advertised on the University’s website. The fact that it is worth making use of them is attested to by the professional careers of our staff.
